Radnor Troop 284 has been an important presence on the Main Line for over 100 years. We are dedicated to the ideals of Scouting and strive to 'graduate' young men of high moral character emphasizing the goals of scouting: citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Our program puts an emphasis on youth leadership with a focus on rugged outdoor activities and high adventure experiences.
We meet Saturday mornings from 8:30am-10:30am at the grounds of our historic Scout Cabin, near the Willows, through the Fall and Spring and at Wayne Presbyterian Church during the Winter.
Our year culminates in a two week summer camp the last two full weeks in July. Our summer camps are unique from traditional Scout camps, in that each are run by the troop leadership and allow a greater flexibility to provide an exceptional experience that combine activities such as hiking, backpacking, canoeing, and biking. Trips traditionally include the Adirondack Canoe Route, Lake George, Cape Cod, Northern Maine, Western PA Circumnavigation, and DC-VA Bike treks as well as regular trips to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM and Sea Base, FL.
